Love Square Pegs

It's been a while since I've posted, and having a second to catch up feels good. The saying, "Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans," comes to mind. I have heard that quote used throughout the years, but it wasn't until I looked it up that I discovered it is from John Lennon's song Beautiful Boy. It just has even more meaning to me. For most of my life, I have felt different than others, but what is interesting is that most of us feel that way. It is probably more common than not. So why is it that we feel different than other people? I don't think we are that much different in our Spirit. We are vastly different, however, in our experiences, cultures, and beliefs that shape our worldview. Those differences are what make our world turn with more color and flavor.

I've spent a lot of time trying to be the round peg that fits into the round hole, but for me, that round peg just felt like a hole, walled in and closed off. We all have to do what we feel we are called to do, believe in, and are within our integrity. When we do not, it just doesn't feel right, and we then try to live within a round peg that belongs to another. That will never fit! It's incredibly freeing to live your life and make decisions without worrying about what someone else thinks of you (working on this one). Being comfortable in one's skin is the goal of knowing who we are and being honored by all those experiences that brought us to this exact moment and time. To know thyself is to live a life of authenticity and integrity. While we are not perfect human beings, our Spirit and God are perfect. This will lead us to where we need to go on our journey to becoming evolved humans. All it takes is a lot of trust and some willingness to let go of the notion of that darn round hole.

Sometimes when we try to climb out of the hole, it can be very uncomfortable, and we may even feel the need to justify our beliefs. However, you only have to live your beliefs and let everyone else find their way, letting Spirit lead the way.

I think I'm okay now, being the square peg, but it has taken me many years to get to this place.

Have a great month. I'm sending good vibes!
